A Partition allows generations of data to be maintained for a specified period of time. For example, if eight partitions are retained and a partition is established every day, then eight days of data will be accumulated. On the ninth day, the oldest partition is discarded. Essentially, the partitions are a rolling storage block of the repository data. You can also use this page to easily set up the time period to make the collection.
